As of August 31st, 2024, Western Digital has officially ended support and services for all ibi devices. How Does This Affect ibi Owners?

  • No More Remote Access: As of the support end date, ibi owners can no longer access their devices remotely. This means you won't be able to access your files through the ibi app or any other remote method.
  • Local Access Still Possible: If you enabled local access on your ibi device before August 31st, 2024, you can still use it to view and manage your files locally. Local access means you can connect to your ibi device directly via your home network, without relying on remote access features.

If you didn't enable local access prior to the support cut-off date, you won't be able to access your data on the ibi device.
